HONG KONG / AUG 29 transit, POTSDAM receiving mark of October 2, all on card front.

Reverse datelined Manila August 24, 1898, message in German. At bottom is written "Prinzess Wilhelm and Kaiserin Augusta" referring to the SMS Imperial German warships which were in the Philippines at the time.

Used 11 days after the Manila Post Office re-opened during
the U.S. Military Administration period.
